IF LIFE IS NOT LOVE

  If life is not love
    what could it be?
Perhaps the merchants
    controlling the sea?

If life is not love
    why exist?
is greater than love
    strewn in our midst?

If life is not love
    why our pain,
over lives crumpled,
    or forfeited in vain?

If life is not love
    why our bliss
gripping one tenderly
    embraced in a kiss?

If life is not love
    why do we cry
 for misfortunes of others
    or that final –"good-by"?

If life is not love
    it is nothing at all!
Spirits in the wind;
    Echoes in a hall.
