God’s Diamond Rolex 

How ridiculous it might be
if God needed a diamond Rolex to see

What time is it?

If God has no need to know
nor a diamond Rolex to show

What time is it? 

Then why do we as man
wear that diamond band
that ticks and moves its hand
that shows us were we stand? 

What time is it?   

Time is made by man
God has no need of the band
that ticks and moves it hand
to tell us where we stand. 

What time is it? 

Yea we have only today
to work, to love, to play.
Toss that band away
never again to say.
