OVER WHAT? -- A TURD!

A young litter of puppies were all playing and tumbling in the back yard – except one. One puppy was in the middle of the yard very content and happy to be alone and entertained by tossing an old dried turd in the air. After a short period of time one of the other puppies observed the one playing with the turd and felt compelled to join him in the turd tossing. Before long all of the puppies were fighting and grabbing to see who could get the turd. The one puppy, who had first been playing with the turd, -- paused, stood for a moment, and walked away -- "Why fight over a turd?"

 

OVER WHAT? -- FOOD !

An old lady, near destitute, took a small bowl of food out for her young litter of puppies. The food was enough to feed no more than two of the eight puppies. One puppy being alert and very hungry rushed to the bowl and began to eat. Then another noticed the one eating and rushed to join. Before long the other six noticed the food and dashed to the bowl – a huge fight ensued. Snarling and teeth bared, warning of death, the first puppy ate his fill -- "For life I will fight!".
